Make the most of the long, balmy evenings and invite friends and family over for an open-air film showing. We designed some invites for you to download. Just click on the link below and print off. Ok, you might need the right kit so scroll down for more info. If you don’t have a projector you can still make use of these invites and host a movie night in your TV room, a great idea for a kid’s party.
Outdoor cinema know-how:
1. Find the right location – whether you’re setting up in the back garden or on a roof terrace, make sure it’s a location free of outdoor lights that could affect the picture.
2. Peg a white sheet to a washing line – it’s all you need for a cinema screen. Choose a spot that’s sheltered from the wind, so your screen won’t move in the breeze.
3. Make your own screen by sewing together pieces of blackout lining, which you can buy by the metre. Tack lengths of timber to the top and bottom and attach screw hooks to the top, then hang it over a row of nails on a wall.
4. Lay a groundsheet on the grass, then layer up blankets, cushions and beanbags to make it cosy.
We recommend Vivitek’s Qumi Q5 portable projector. You’ll need to connect it to speakers and a video source (DVD player or laptop).Read more →
