    Get shelfie ready

by  • Monday, January 18, 2016 • Latest trends, Lovely websites, Stylish shopping, Uncategorized • 1 Comment

I love a beautifully arranged little shelf moment, (sad as that looks in writing!), but I’m definitely not alone here, (the #shelfie confirms this is not only my guilty pleasure). There has definitely been more time spent than I would like to admit, artfully re-arranging a shelf, checking it from the angle you first see it at as you walk in…

Pocket shelf in copper, £92.65, String range, Nest

Check out the String inspiration board of shelfies if you want to feel really inadequate about your arranging skills.

Just to add to this shelf-related stress, it’s not enough to just think about what is perched on top of it; the growing trend for the art of displaying (and instagramming) your wares beautifully; has created a whole new market for alternative shelf options and creative brackets. Here are a few of my favourites:

    Copper…of course!

    1. Copper wire shelf, £15, Urban Outfitters (back in stock February)
    2. Frama D 27 shelf, £95, Chase & Sorensen
    3. Form copper effect brackets, £7.47, B&Q

    Metal works…

    1. Metal shelf hangers in Mint, £30, Ferm Living
    2. Hanging grey shelf and black brackets, £59, Idyll Home
    3. Green marble shelf with brass brackets, £68, Mia Fleur

    Softly does it…

    1. Concrete and cord hanging shelf, £29.45, Kelly Connor Designs, NotOnTheHighstreet.com
    2. WOW Merio wool shelf brackets, £39, Des Res (shelf available separately)
    3.  Autel (or Altar) shelf, by Mr & Mr, watch this space for suppliers. We spotted Mr & Mr at Design Junction last year, we loved these neon string shelves.

    Luxe leather…

    1. Wood shelf with leather brackets, £42, Rockett St. George
    2. Wooden shelf with leather brackets, small £48, large, £75, Graham & Green

by  • Wednesday, September 23, 2015 • Latest trends, Look what I found, Lovely websites, Stylish shopping, Uncategorized • 2 Comments

I’ve been cloud spotting, and not just while I stare blankly out of a window trying to come up with another interesting way to describe Christmas decoration no.1018…this weather based shopping report says clouds are forming and for once it’s a welcome sight!

Storm Clouds wallpaper, £75 per roll, Abigail Edwards

    From left to right: Tofsviva bed linen set, from £15; Ikea; Smaller weather clock in copper, £295, Bramwell Brown; Cloud Lamp, £64, Ferm Living; Clouds container, £28, Rosie Moss;

    A pleasing cloud formation…

    1. ‘Head in the clouds tea towel’, £11.50, by Collectus range, Designer /Makers;  2. Cirrus shelf, £199, by Ibride range, Made in Design; 3. Iso cloud cushion, £15, Made; 4. Weather Diary coffee cup, £16, Marimekko range, John Lewis; 5. Cloud plate, £22, Donna Wilson; 6. Moln cloud grey baby blanket, £20; Farg Form range, Northlight.

If you are a cloud fan, a niche group you might think… but no, on my travels I discovered some fellow enthusiasts at The Cloud Appreciation Society, so if you don’t want to get caught looking out of windows at clouds, you can stare at them here, Clouds That Look Like Things is my particular favourite.
