If the glorious weather of the past Bank Holiday weekend is anything to go by, it seems like we’re well on our way to spring – hurrah! It’s time to ditch the winter coats and furry boots outdoors, and stow away heavy tog duvets and snuggly quilts inside. So, with their summer-friendly alternatives draped across the bed, what better time to invest in some spring-like bedding? If you’re in the mood for something lighter and brighter, check out the new Prairie and Block Patchwork ranges from Clarissa Hulse. Fresh for Spring Summer 2015, these two new bed linen designs are just the ticket to brighten up a neutral room.
The Prairie print, shown above in Tumeric, features a delicate spring pattern of meadow flowers and grasses. Comprised of zingy mustard tones offset with a delicate white background and steely grey accents, it makes for a light and airy motif that wouldn’t be out of place in a boutique countryside hotel. Want to extend the palette into the rest of your scheme? Try the co-ordinating Trillo rug from Habitat, from £150.
Less overtly floral than traditional summer prints, Block Patchwork in Pebble (above) is the second gorgeous offering from Clarissa Hulse. Inspired by Clarissa’s travels, from a branch washed up on a tropical shore to pressed dill flowers in Wiltshire, every square of the graphic print has its own little story to tell. Made up of complementary fern and leaf prints in warm teals, cool blues and biscuit tones, it’s the ideal pick-me-up for a pared-back scheme. Accessorize simply with twigs of pussy willow and occasional red accents, for an understated take on the traditional summer look.
